Fees & Insurance
Investing in Your Therapy and Recovery
Choosing to begin therapy is an important decision. I believe fees and payment expectations should be clear from the beginning so you can determine whether my practice is the right fit for your needs.
Jeremy Larson Marriage and Family Therapy Inc. provides individual and couples therapy for concerns including sex and pornography addiction, betrayal trauma, infidelity recovery, intimacy difficulties, anxiety, relationship concerns, and personal growth.
Therapy Fees
My standard fee is:
$200 per 45-minute therapy session
$250 per 45-minute couples therapy session
Fees for other session lengths, specialized services, assessments, or services outside of regularly scheduled therapy may differ. Any applicable fees will be discussed with you before the service is provided.
Insurance
My practice maintains a limited number of appointments for clients using insurance.
Insurance availability may be limited, and I may not have openings for new insurance-based clients at the time you contact me.
Availability can also vary depending on your insurance plan and my current caseload.
If you are interested in using insurance, please contact me with your insurance information so that we can determine whether I am currently accepting new clients through your specific plan.
Please remember that insurance coverage is determined by your individual plan. Being in-network with an insurance company does not guarantee that a particular service will be covered or that you will have no out-of-pocket costs.
Private-Pay Therapy
Private pay may be available even when appointments through an insurance plan are not.
Some clients choose private pay because they prefer greater flexibility in selecting a therapist or because they do not want their treatment to depend upon insurance coverage requirements.
If you are considering private-pay therapy, we can discuss whether my services and areas of specialization are appropriate for what you are looking for.
Out-of-Network Benefits
Depending on your insurance plan, you may have out-of-network mental health benefits that reimburse you for a portion of therapy expenses.
If appropriate, documentation may be available that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
Has any portion of my deductible already been met?
What percentage or amount is reimbursed after the deductible is met?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered?
What documentation is required for reimbursement?
You remain responsible for payment of your therapy fees regardless of whether your insurance company reimburses you.
Payment
Payment is generally due at the time services are provided unless another arrangement has been established in advance.
Additional information regarding payment, cancellations, and other practice policies will be provided as part of the informed-consent process before treatment begins.
Couples Therapy and Insurance
Insurance coverage for couples therapy can vary considerably.
Health insurance generally requires services to meet the requirements of the individual insurance plan, which may include medical-necessity and diagnosis requirements. Relationship concerns alone may not necessarily qualify for insurance reimbursement.
If you are seeking couples therapy, we can discuss whether insurance may be applicable to your circumstances or whether private-pay treatment would be more appropriate.
Specialized and Administrative Services
Some services that occur outside of a regular psychotherapy session may not be included in the standard therapy fee or covered by insurance.
Examples can include certain assessments, extensive documentation, treatment-verification letters, record review, consultation, or other administrative services.
When an additional fee applies, the fee and expectations will be discussed before the service is completed whenever possible.
Good Faith Estimates
If you are not using insurance to pay for your care, you may have rights under federal law to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your health care.
A Good Faith Estimate is not a guarantee of the exact number of therapy sessions you will ultimately choose or need. Therapy duration varies depending on your goals, circumstances, progress, and decisions regarding treatment.
Additional information regarding your rights under the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates can be provided upon request.
Questions About Fees or Availability?
It is completely appropriate to ask questions about fees, insurance, or the therapy process before deciding whether to begin.
If you're looking for support with sex addiction, pornography addiction, betrayal trauma, infidelity recovery, intimacy concerns, or relationship difficulties, you can contact me to ask about current availability and determine whether working together may be a good fit.
